Description
Offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz the study course “Bachelor of Education in Protestant Religious Studies” is with a duration of six semesters. While analyzing the general beliefs of the Christian faith, the program highlightes their relevance and truth in relation to present situations in discussions while also focusing on the legacy of reformation theology and its historical background. The subjects of the program primarily address the history behind the creation of the texts, the various ways and changes in how the texts are understood, taking into account the institutional, social, legal and historical contexts, as well as the archaeological findings along with the subject Ecclesiastical History. The prospective students explore the development of teachings, history of dogma and theology, church institutions as well as related movements, history of the church, the major personalities, the collective developments in the interpretation and adoption of biblical texts.
