Provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, the two-subject program “Bachelor of Arts in Slavic Studies/Eastern European Studies: Polish Studies” is with a total duration of six semesters. The program focuses on Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic as well as Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia. In the subject of Slavic Studies / Eastern European Studies students obtain excellent language skills with focus on literary and cultural studies, literature and literary history, the methodologically and theoretically based analysis and description of linguistic phenomena as well as dealing with connections from the fields of history, society, media, Politics, economics and geography of the countries of East Central, East and Southeast Europe. In addition to imparting specialist content, studying Slavic / Eastern European Studies offers the opportunity to acquire general key qualifications such as academic writing, lecturing, discussing and more.
