The study program “Master of Education in Secondary School Teaching, Major subject German Literature’’ is provided by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. This full-time course of study is with a duration of four semesters and aims to build up on the knowledge and skills already acquired throughout the Bachelor’s course of the same name. Here, students will advance and develop new abilities to analyze, reflect and explain literary texts from a historical and cultural perspective. Furthermore, participants will gain a better understanding of the subject-didactic theories and methods necessary for practicing the teacher profession. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are able to continue with a professional development as German Literature teachers in high schools, community school as well as vocational schools.
