At Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, prospective students can find the study program “Bachelor of Education in Secondary School Teaching, major subject German Literature’’. This is a full-time course of study with a duration of six semesters. Its main objective is to impart knowledge in the development of German literature in the different epochs. Furthermore, students will acquire subject-didactic knowledge necessary for practicing the profession of a teacher. The curriculum allows for a combination of different subjects. Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree can continue with a Master’s degree or teach German Literature in high schools, community school as well as vocational schools.
