Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is offering the degree program “Master of Education in Secondary School Teaching, Complementary subject Chemistry’’. This is an extension of the Master’s program and allows students to combine subjects based on their personal interests. Through this approach participants can receive an in-depth knowledge not only in the field of chemistry but also in another discipline of their choice. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates can practice the teacher profession in high schools, community school as well as vocational schools. In addition there are also great opportunities for career development outside of the education environment, for instance in foundations and associations, publishing houses, advice centres and others.
