The Church University of Wuppertal/Bethel offers the study program “Master of Arts in Diaconic Management”. The entry requirements include a completed degree in a diaconal discipline, such as theology, social sciences, economics, psychology, etc. or at least three years management experience. The purpose of this course is to give the students the ability to reflect on the leadership practice of the diaconal organisations, to understand the connection between the theological and economic perspectives and how they relate to one another, as well as to develop language skills, joint management and to analyse the logics in diaconia in the area between church, enterprise, state and hybrid organisations. This course also provides opportunities for doctorate, and the capacity to perceive and reflect on current developments within the diaconia / social economy and in the relevant scientific disciplines.
