There is an opportunity for further academic studies and a Doctoral Degree at the Kühne Logistics University, Hamburg. It is meant to be fulfilled in a four-year period, and welcomes candidates from diverse scientific backgrounds, not only economics and business. The program will earn students the German degree of Doctor in Business, Economics, and Social Sciences/ Wirtschaftswissenschaften (Dr.rer.pol.), or the international degree of Doctor of Philosophy in management (PhD). By research on a relevant and problematic issue in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration, graduates will add their perspective to the vast existing wealth of scientific analysis in these fields. Two academic supervisors are at students’ disposition for support during their independent research, and courses, centered on research methods, philosophy, ethics of science, and scholarly writing, taken at KLU or the partner universities, will enlarge the set of skills and the expertise of the candidates. Apart from the Master’s degree and the outstanding academic record and English-language proficiency, candidatures should be supported by a resident faculty member of the university.
