Leibniz University of Hanover, founded in 1831, is a public university seated in Hanover, Lower Saxony. Accomodating more than 27,600 students, it is the second-largest higher education institution throughout the Federal State of Lower Saxony. The University is comprised of nine faculties: the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, and the Faculty of Economics and Management. Prospective students can choose from a pool of more than 180 study courses. They range from conventional undergraduate and consecutive full-time study courses to postgraduate and supplementary study courses as well as some extra-occupational courses. The latter include the courses “Ergonomics“ (extra-occupational certificate course), “Structural Engineering“ (extra-occupational correspondence course), and “ Water Resources and Environmental Management“ (extra-occupational correspondence course). Also on offer are international study courses, among them “Atlantic Studies in History, Culture and Society“, “European Master in Territorial Development“, “International Horticulture“, and “Water Resources and Environmental Management“. Some study courses do not require any higher education entrance qualification. The following degrees can be obtained at Leibniz University of Hanover: B.A., B.Sc., LL.B., M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., and LL.M.
