The Leipzig University of Applied Sciences Hochschule offers the “Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering” program, which takes six semesters, accumulates 180 ECTS, and finishes with a practical project and a bachelor thesis, which is usually done in cooperation with a practical company. Local numerus clausus determines the admission number limit, and there is a recommendation for a completed six-week pre-study internship. The degree opens up prospects as civil engineers, those, whose specific and high-level qualifications make them responsible for the planning, designing, building and monitoring of residential or commercial buildings, streets, dams, bridges, factories, water and sewage systems. The broad specter of skills compiled through the course, are, apart from the purely technical knowledge, social and environmentally conscious ones.
