At the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, there is the “Master of Science in Computer Science” on offer. The degree is a comprehensive study of all subjects encompassing the creation, use, and maintenance of information technology products, like software development and engineering, data operations, artificial intelligence, parallel programming. It is a second professional qualification, too. Practical orientation is given through the work on a long-term project, where students gain complete view of the results of theory applied to real-life task solutions. If completed part-time, in a work and family compatible modality, the course becomes two semesters longer than the standard four. Internal university software development projects and a project management internship occupy a great share of the academic load of the studies. The master’s thesis preparation in the last semester is defended in the form of a colloquim.
