The Leipzig University of Applied Sciences is a provider of the study program “Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering: Civil Engineering”. The degree is meant to be accomplished within a period of six semesters, the last one being for the thesis and the practical phase. A lot of subjects are included in the curriculum, since future engineers need to have substantial scientific knowledge on a range of fields – mathematics, materials, construction, and more civil engineering-oriented subjects are combined with business knowledge, plus the social, political and ethical side to it. The aim is to prepare engineers for independent work, based on scientific evidence-based decisions and solutions. Foreign language studies, and project management skills are included to give an international dimension to the preparation and widen future graduates’ career prospects.
