The degree program “Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering: Mechanical Engineering” at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences lasts six semesters, and is performed in an optimally practice-oriented manner, so that in the last semester, an internship and a project-based thesis will have to be completed. It is essential for modern-day engineers to be trained not only in science-specific areas, which, of course, will be imparted in the foundation period of the program. Economic processes inside the company or institution, which would host future specialists, will affect their decisions and functions, as well, and that is why the undergraduate degree commits to the preparation in business administration subjects, as well. The aim is the ability to independently function inside a company, without loosing sight of the big picture and the whole integrated continuum of processes involved.
