The Computer Science and Media Faculty at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, together with Bundesverband Museumspädagogik e. V. and the Bundesakademie für Kulturelle Bildung Wolfenbüttel, offers the study program “Master of Arts in Museum Education”. The degree’s goal is to fill in a freshly created niche for specilaists in the educational use of museums that visitors are beginning to enjoy currently. A dialogue between people and objects is the core of the studies, which continue for four semesters, including practice period, a stay abroad, and a master’s thesis, or longer, if taken part-time. Acquiring the ability to plan, develop and carry out educational and communication activities in museums is accomplished through imparting content from disciplines like museology and pedagogy, exhibition didactics, forms of medial communication, as well as project, marketing and personnel management.
