The practice-integrated study program “Bachelor of Arts in Television Production” can be studied at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences. It has been developed by the university and the partnering TV Academy Mitteldeutschland gGmbH. The practice-based studies will provide insight into the challenges of TV media, and train for the technical and editorial production of topics to be broadcasted on TV. Visual design, editing, scripting, media, communication training, studio production, journalism, project management - all are integrated in the curriculum. The degree’s length is seven semesters, the fifth is dedicated to practice, and the last one to the bachelor thesis. There are three specialization areas – TV journalism, TV camera and TV management, which determine the type of subjects to be covered after the initial general scope. Career prospects are thrilling and inspiring, since they lift the veil of charm and curiosity which TV production is commonly related to. Proof of training contract is required for admission.
