Martin Luther University of Halle Wittenberg, formed by merging two predecessor institutions in 1817, is a public university with sites in Halle an der Saale, and Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt. It currently has a total of almost 20,000 students. The University is comprised of eleven faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Philosophy I, the Faculty of Philosophy II, the Faculty of Philosophy III, the Faculty of Natural Sciences I, the Faculty of Natural Sciences II, the Faculty of Natural Sciences III, and the Center of Engineering Studies. The University’s study offer ranges from conventional Bachelor and Master programs, through teacher education and state exam programs, to a number of postgraduate and continuing education programs for executives and university staff. The latter programs include the postgraduate program “Law – Legum magister LL.M.“, the Master programs “Heritage Management“, “Business Law and Economic Law“, “Medicine – Ethics – Law“, “Online Radio“, the extra-occupational Master program “Management of Educational Institutions“, the Master program “Künstlerisches Aufbaustudium“, as well as “Concert Exam“. Depending on the respective program, graduates of Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg obtain a B.A., B.Sc., M.A.. M.Sc., LL.M., MBA, or M.mel. degree.
