The "Master of Arts in Applied Sports Psychology" program at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg has a length of four semesters. The consecutive master’s degree combines both sport psychological, clinical psychological and pedagogical psychological knowledge. The curriculum includes the subjects such as Introduction to the professional field, Sports psychological diagnostics, Sport psychological methods for emotion regulation, Team diagnosis and team building, and Counseling and coaching models in theory and practice. To apply, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in sports science or psychology. Graduates are qualified for independent sports psychologist with own practice and sports psychological advice in and for associations in competitive sports.
