The "Master of Arts in Medieval and Modern Archaeology" program at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg lasts four semesters. The master’s degree concentrates on various research contexts of the subject, current research questions and independent research work. Over the training students will benefit form a six-week internship, which must include four weeks of excavation practice. Students must have completed an archaeologically focused or equivalent first professional university degree to be eligible to apply. Graduates start their careers in museums, institutions of archaeological preservation of monuments, excavation companies and more.
