Description
The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural European and American Studies (IKEAS)” at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg lasts six semesters. The program's objective is to prepare students for international cooperation through the acquisition of knowledge of two languages and cultures as well as the development of the necessary cultural and mediation skills. The curriculum includes the compulsory modules of Basic Module IKEAS I: Intercultural Practice: Theories and Methods, Basic Module IKEAS II: Intercultural Experience, Basic module IKEAS III: historically comparative cultural theories, Basic module IKEAS IV: Networking of cross-cultural theories and concepts, and a bachelor's thesis. To submit, applicants must present a recognized higher education entrance qualification and knowledge in English, French, Spanish or German languages. Graduates start their careers in the foreign cultural policy, development aid, support for foreigners, the media, business and the tourism industry.
