The "Master of Science in International Area Studies - Global Change Geography" program at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg is four semesters long. The language of instruction is English and German. The bilingual and consecutive course concentrates on today’s major international challenges, such as opportunities and risks of globalization, and perspectives of the world economy. The syllabus contains the compulsory modules of Understanding Global Change and International Areas: Key Concepts and Theories, Global and Regional Geographies - an Overview and a master's thesis. To apply, prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in geographically oriented or comparable field and a B2 level in English. Graduates find employment opportunities in universities and research institutions, companies, associations, state and municipal institutions, and international organizations.
