The “Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies” program with 60 LP at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg is six semesters long. The purpose of the bachelor’s degree is to impart an intensive introduction to the fundamentals of Italian studies. Students must have 180 credit points in total so they must combine it with a 120 LP partial bachelor’s course. The curriculum includes Introduction to Italian Cultural Studies, Introduction to Italian Linguistics, Introduction to Italian Literary Studies and Lingua Italiana. To apply, prospective students must have a recognized higher education entrance qualification. Graduates find employment opportunities in culture, politics and economy, publishing and media, educational and cultural institutions as well as public relations.
