The 120 CP program "Bachelor of Arts in Musicology" at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg is six semesters long. The goal of the course is to transmit a general understanding of historical and systematic musicology and ethnomusicology. Students acquire knowledge about music history, aesthetics, sociology and psychology, European folk music and the music of non-European cultures and other topics. To apply, candidates must present a recognized higher education entrance qualification. Graduates find employment in cultural management, music journalism, dramaturgy, and work in music publishers, archives, museums and the media industry.
