The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Theory” offered by Merz Academy located in Stuttgart is influenced by the concept of authorship in the fields of art, design, and media. The essential premise is that any full understanding of the field`s cultural, social, and polico-historical past requires a theoretical permeation of the cultural present. The theoretical disciplines have been split into three categories, namely, Aesthetic Theory, Cultural Theory, and Art History.
