The “Master of Arts in Art Therapy” at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences is designed as a continuation of the undergraduate course to give further practical competence to futire therapists. It is a dual qualification, which combines the artistic and the scientific profile. The teaching research workshop integrates practical project work, done by each student in support of their development as therapists. The academic team guides students in the methodology, implementation and evaluation of these. Small groups in intensive studio work guarantee the cooperative and familiar atmosphere of the studies, as well as the special individual treatment in the process of developing one’s own artistic and professional personality to an applicable level. The three semesters combine the necessary theory in artistic, aesthetic, qualitative, and quantitative research, quality assurance, diagnostics and treatment knowledge, together with the professional ethic dimension of the profession.
