Description
Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences provides the “Bachelor of Engineering in Landscape Architecture” program. Planning, designing and building open spaces in the city is the basic role of such specialists. This means that students can focus more on design, or on construction, if they feel one of these is their stronger side. Altogether, any of them require creativity, independence, analytical and technical thinking, artistic talent, good sense of color, shape and space, an experimenting and inquisitive nature, and good teamwork abilities. By modifying landscape, architects also influence quality of life and emotional experiences. The degree is eight-semester German-taught one. Three semesters of basic studies are followed by a semester in either Planning and Design, or Planning and Building. The fifth is an internship one, and the rest are for further in-depth preparation in the specialization fields. Future graduates’ intervention in urban space might include green spaces, parks, gardens, allotments, playgrounds or public spaces.
