The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Theater Therapy” at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences means an eight-semester period of study. It is divided between a practice period, an initial and advanced stage of the studies. The essence of psychodynamics is the core of the therapeutic source, from which intervention methodology and scientific principles are extracted. Alongside this, the development of the artistic and therapeutic talents of the students will lead to a greater level of self-awareness and professional efficacy. The curriculum of the degree is based on the relevant artistic education, through critical analysis of film and theater productions, the psychotherapeutic procedures, methodology and systems available for use in theatre-based therapy, and the ethical considerations of the job-related interventions.
