University of Applied Sciences Offenburg, founded in 1964, is a public university seated in Offenburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg. Besides the Offenburg headquarters, it runs a branch office in Gengenbach. The University is split up into four departments: the Department of Business and Industrial Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, and the Department of Media and Information. It currently has a total of almost 4,500 students enrolled in 24 Bachelor programs and 23 Master programs in the fields of Engineering, Business, and Media. A special characteristic of the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg are the so-called “plus“ programs i.e. polyvalent programs where students qualify for the three occupational fields of Engineer, Research Engineer, and Vocational Teacher. The University also offers international (English-taught) study programs at Master’s level, among them the programs “Communication and Media Engineering“, “Energy Conversion and Management“, “International Business Consulting“, “Power and Data Engineering“, as well as “Process Engineering“. The University’s educational portfolio is complemented by a combined study program at Bachelor’s level, combining vocational training with a study program in Engineering (B.Eng.). Depending on the respective program, graduates of University of Applied Sciences Offenburg obtain a B.A., B.Sc., B.Eng., M.A., M.Sc., M.Eng., or MBA degree.
