The “Bachelor of Arts in Nursing Management” program at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is extra-occupational, with a length of 8 semesters. The course builds on a completed professional training in nursing and establishes the connection between the nursing profession and the economic knowledge of the occupational field of health. Nursing process as a planning method, Health promotion and prevention as a task of care, Patient orientation and care ethics, Basics of health and hospital facilities, Health policy framework, Fundamentals of accounting from a hospital-specific point of view, Nursing informatics, Financing systems in healthcare facilities, Human resource management for nursing and other subjects are explored in the curriculum. Apart from the general admission requirements, proof of at least one year of professional experience in the health sector full-time after the vocational training as well as an existing employment relationship in a health care facility or a comparable self-employed activity amounting to at least 50% of the standard weekly working hours are required.
