The “Bachelor of Arts in Social Work” at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 6 full-time semesters and a one-year internship. In addition to the theoretical and methodological foundations of the subject of social work, students acquire knowledge in the related sciences of pedagogy, psychology, law and social sciences. The course curriculum includes subjects like Science and Profession Social Work, Practical fields of social work, Shaping teaching-learning processes and the role of students, Sociological and socio-political foundations of social work, Methods of empirical social research in social work, Methodical action in social work: case management and documentation, Family and youth law for social work, Social and quality management and more. Apart from the general admission requirements, candidates must submit proof of a subject-related internship that has to be completed in relevant fields of social work or social pedagogy.
