The doctorate degree program in “Biology” is offered for 6 semesters at the Osnabrueck University. Molecular, biochemical, biophysical, and cell-developmental characteristics of cells are the focus of the PhD degree program. The research and training program includes 10 biological working groups, as well as one each from chemistry and physics. When students are admitted to a doctorate program, they are given a comprehensive first interview to assess their strengths and shortcomings. The entire course is taught in English language and the academic calendar begins in the winter and summer semester. Graduates can find work in private and state research institutes as well as in universities.
