The PhD program “Cognitive Science” can be undertaken for a period of 6 semesters and the language of teaching is English. The academic calendar begins in the winter and summer semester. The primary goal of cognitive science is to study cognitive abilities such as perception, reasoning and planning as well as language acquisition and performance. In the doctoral program, excellent students have the chance to do cutting-edge research in highly relevant areas of cognitive science while being integrated into a curriculum that systematically supports their growth and enables them to get a PhD within three years of starting. Graduating students in cognitive science are prepared to pursue research careers in computer science as well as in psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and even linguistics.
