The degree program “Master of Arts in English and American Studies” is taught at the Osnabrueck University for 4 semesters, with studies beginning in the winter or summer semester. The language of teaching is English and as a Master's student, candidates study Anglo-American linguistics, literature and cultural studies with a focus on the relationship between linguistic-culture knowledge and linguistic-cultural communication. The curriculum comprises of study of English language in different eras from a literary and linguistic point of view. Press, publishing, and public relations are the most common occupations outside of the education industry. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in English, or its equivalent, and have completed at least 70 credit points in a relevant field.
