Description
The two-subject program “Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Geography” at Osnabrueck University is a bridge between the scientific and social sciences, allowing students to combine the two disciplines. The standard period of study for this degree is 6 semesters and the language of instruction is German and English. To begin with, geographers look at how humans use their environment in the economic, social, and political spheres. Students will learn about physical geography, human geographies, applied and regional geographies, as well as geography didactics in this course. Questions of society-environment interactions in different locations and eras, as well as urban and regional development, are addressed in both education and research. A strong methodological training and the methodical teaching of essential competences are also covered in all sub-areas of the curriculum. Combined with another topic, geography is given as a major, core, and minor as part of the 2-subject bachelor's degree.
