Description
The two-subject program „Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Geoinformatics” at Osnabrueck University is an emerging inter-discipline which is offered for 3 years and it bridges the gap between math, computer science, geography, and economics. Using computer science principles, it aims to solve geographical problems, such as data gathering with GPS devices, route computations with navigation systems, or risk assessments of polluted areas in environmental information systems. The undergraduate degree in Geoinformatics is a technically oriented minor, therefore it does not require basic computer science and mathematics courses. A modern and practical course selection is available, as is customised and intense support. While this degree is available as both a core and minor topic, it is required to be paired with another subject and graduates are qualified for a wide range of positions in the commercial sector or in public administration on a federal, state, or local level.
