Osnabrueck University offers the 3-year Bachelor’s degree “Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in History”, which begins in the winter semester. It is studied as a core and minor subject. As a social creature, the degree examines the circumstances and effects of a person's profession within the contexts of different societies and historical epochs. Historical studies divide time into ancient, mediaeval, early modern, and modern periods. Over the course of the program, students study Early Modern History, Modern and Modern History, Migration History, and History Didactics. In both teaching and research, European and regional concerns are taken into account, as well as global ones. Graduating students have access to a wide range of career options in business and administration, including archive, library and museum work; journalism; editing; and science.
