“Master of Arts in Islamic Theology” is a continuation of the bachelor's degree in Islamic Theology. This postgraduate degree can be undertaken at the Osnabrueck University for 2 years and the academic calendar begins with the winter or summer semester. The Master's degree gives a choice between two topic orientations: theological and philosophical. As an alternative, a community education and pastoral specialty programme is available. Graduates are qualified to teaching in mosque communities as imams or to engage in religious education and pastoral care in various social and religious institutions. A variety of other career opportunities exist in the social and creative sectors of politics, science and economics and in government and non-governmental organisations.
