After a period of 4.5 years graduates are awarded a state examination degree in “Law” at the Osnabrueck University. The course of studies begins with the winter semester and the language of instruction is German. During this course, students will learn about the three primary fields of law: civil law, public policy and criminal law. Additionally, students at Osnabrueck University are required to take extra economics coursework as well. There is also a requirement for three four-week internships during the semester break. There is a first legal examination at the end of the course, which is separated into a state mandatory topic test and a university-focused examination. In addition, candidates can work as a judge, public prosecutor lawyer, notary and administrative officer upon completion of their education.
