The degree program “Mathematics – Teaching at Primary Schools” can be undertaken at the Osnabrueck University for 4 semesters and is taught in German language. Studies begin with the winter semester and the course is organized in stages. For a teaching post, the mathematics course must be closely tied to research and practise. This field gives access to mathematical learning processes and deals with key ideas for the design and analysis of relevant learning opportunities for students with varying abilities, including gifted and talented kids. The students should critically examine their own memories of mathematics lessons from their own school days and develop them further against the backdrop of current pedagogic research in order to develop their understanding of mathematics teachings. Graduates can work as a teacher at vocational schools after the completion of their studies.
