Students at Osnabrueck University can study the postgraduate degree program “Master of Education in Metal Technology – Teaching at Vocational Schools for Subject Bachelors” over the course of four semesters. German is the language of instruction and the course begins with the winter semester. A mechanical engineering bachelor's degree is required for the Master's program, which prepares students for teaching at vocational schools. A general education subject, vocational and business education, and specialty didactics in the professional sector are studied in addition to the course already finished. Professional subjects do not need to be studied because they are already covered in a bachelor's or certificate degree. After completing their education, graduates can work as a teacher in vocational high schools or universities.
