Osnabrueck University offers the two-subject Bachelor’s degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Music/Musicology” for a duration of 6 semesters, with the language of instruction being German. As a subject, music encompasses a wide range of disciplines that include historical and theoretical aspects as well as music technology and music education, as well as music theory and creative practise. In addition to instrumental instruction, students also take piano and vocal classes that are geared at professionals. Additionally, there is the opportunity to participate in numerous orchestras, choruses, and ensembles. As a core topic, music has to be paired with another subject in order to be taken as a full course. Graduates can work in broadcasting or cultural management or a specialty magazine or computer company depending on the emphasis.
