Osnabrueck University carries out the doctoral program “Nanosciences”, which begins with the winter and summer semester. The six-semester program is taught in both German and English. Technical expertise and methodological abilities are acquired through the doctorate program, which prepares students for independent research in science. Along with specialisation in one's own field, there is also a chance for students to work on other current research fields as well. Graduates have the option to report on their doctorate research in a combined reporting session. In addition, the doctorate students attend subject-specific lectures and lecture series as well as seminars in order to develop their expert knowledge and also their general knowledge and to get to know current research issues and challenges in connected fields.
