Osnabrueck University offers the “Master of Science in Nanosciences – Materials, Molecules and Cells”, which commences with the winter semester and comes to an end after the fourth semester. This postgraduate course is one of three research fields of chemistry, biology, and physics that may be combined to form the master's degree in "nanosciences". There are several optional courses that students can pick from in addition to the major topic concentration. Important are the interdisciplinary contacts between adjacent fields and the tight relationships between the researchers and students. As a full-time, research-oriented program, the successive specialised Master's degree program is meant to prepare students for careers in science. A doctoral degree is an option for good graduates who have a strong interest in research.
