Description

University of Osnabrueck offers the two-subject bachelor degree program “Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Sociology” for a duration of 6 semesters. The course is taught in German and partly in English language and the academic calendar begins in winter. In this course, students explore the behaviors of individuals in social interactions, the genesis and changes in social structures, and the issues of social order and inequality. It is possible to study sociology as a core topic in many ways. For example, there is a subject-specific obligatory area that includes an introduction to sociology as well as the teaching of empirical social research methodologies and essential approaches to sociological theory. There are two mandatory elective topics that allow students to focus on themselves and consolidate. There is also a professionalization area for the acquisition of important credentials, which is in addition to the subject-specific core program.
