Osnabrueck University offers the degree program “Textile Design – Teaching at Primary Schools”, which begins in the winter semester in German. Cultural studies and aesthetic abilities are communicated through textile design, which has a unique profile since theory and practice are intertwined. It is possible to take subject-specific courses on themes such as the cultural history of textiles and apparel in Europe and non-European countries, the aesthetics of fabrics, clothing, and textile industry, as well as textile ecology. The course concludes with didactic activities and practice-related visits to museums, companies, or exhibitions. A bachelor's degree is the first step of the course, which is arranged in phases.
