Description
Special Education is aimed towards giving pupils with disabilities equal opportunities and providing them with the information and tools needed to reach their full learning potential. In Special Education degree courses, students are prepared to develop strategies, use various methodologies and educate children with special needs. Such courses typically include subjects like Assessment and Evaluation, Legal & Ethical Aspects of Special Education, Inclusive Education, Specific Learning Difficulties, Management of Physical and Multiple Disabilities, Intellectual Disability, Characteristics and Methods of Teaching Students with Disabilities, Technology for Special Education and others. Students learn about certain behavior principles and patterns and how to manage them. An inclusive approach is very important in working with special needs children, and students are encouraged to research and learn about different techniques and methods, as well as incorporate technology in the study process. Graduates of Special Education courses can work in centers that provide classes for disabled children, in counseling departments, school facilities, as school coordinators, principals, policy advisors, curriculum and program developers, community helpers and many more.
