Description
The degree program “Bachelor of Science in Applied Geosciences’’ is a full-time course with a duration of six semesters offered by RWTH Aachen University. The objective of this study program is to explore Earth’s origins and its processes that form and shape Earth’s surface. With the acquired knowledge from this course students will be able to examine and protect the Earth and its nature, determine the origin and structure of fossils, minerals and natural materials, as well as estimate the risk of earthquakes, landslides, deformation and caving probabilities. Throughout their studies participants will be able to choose their own study profile by selecting different modules from three different geoscientific profile areas that focus on geoengineering, geology of mineral and energy resources, and materials science. The study curriculum of the Applied Geosciences program comprises such subjects as Linear Algebra, Chemistry, Physics, General Geology, Polarization Microscopy, Sedimentology, and more.
