The four-semester program “Master of Education in Catholic Religious Education, Gymnasium and Gesamtschule Teacher’’ is offered by RWTH Aachen University. This is a full-time course of studies with a duration of four semesters. This particular degree program is ideal for students who wish to become teachers in secondary and comprehensive schools. Like in the Bachelor course of the same name, here participants will also have to study two teacher training subjects that can be of course combined with other subjects. Furthermore, this Master course includes not only the two mandatory subjects but also educational studies and a practical semester. Catholic Religious Education has a degree content divided into five obligatory modules. In the first year of their studies, participants will take module M1 that focuses on subject-didactic studies. Year two and three feature modules M3 and M5 that have a technical orientation and fall under biblical and systematic theology. The final year concludes with module M4 that explores other religions in two courses.
