RWTH Aachen offers the four-semester degree program “Master of Arts in Cognitive, Digital and Empirical English Studies’’. Taught entirely in English, the course aims at imparting interdisciplinary knowledge in several disciplines, namely the humanities, cognitive science as well as technology. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the theories and methods of cognitive, computer-based and empirical research and learn how to adequately apply them in research projects. The curriculum encompasses five study areas with modules covering topics such as linguistic and literary issues, the empirical methods used in linguistics and literature, and others. Furthermore, students must complete an internship in a research institution or in a company. Graduates with a Master’s degree will be qualified to work in the field of empirical humanities, publishing and journalism, public relations, advertisement, adult education, tourism, and more.
