Description
The interdisciplinary course of study “Master of Science in Computational Social Systems’’ is an English-taught, full-time program offered at RWTH Aachen University with a duration of four semesters. The program focuses on the social and societal processes, functions, and procedures that are digitally reproduced and formed through algorithms and social behavior. Throughout their studies, participants will touch on areas of IT, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Ethics, and Social Sciences. In addition, students will also receive training in data structures, automatic data processing methods, algorithms, and more that will give them deeper knowledge of the development of technically integrated social systems. The first semester of the programs focuses on the fundamentals of IT, Psychology, Ethics, and Reflection. In the second semester, students will be able to choose one of two specializations: Social Data Science or Social Theories and Ethics. The third semester involves an advanced course that can be either a solo endeavor or a group work, and in their fourth semester, students will have to complete a Master’s thesis.
