The “Bachelor of Arts in German, Vocational School Teacher’’ is a six-semester degree program with a full-time duration offered by RWTH Aachen University. This course is aimed at students who want to become vocational school teachers. This course of studies will provide students with an overview of the key aspects of literary studies in terms of literary-historical eras, cultural history, and genre theories. What is more, throughout their studies, participants will also learn how to analyze texts according to different theories, work with visual media, understand the toll of language as a main medium of communication, and more. The degree content features modules in German literature, Modern and Old German literature, Media Theory, Text Analyses, and more. Since training for vocational school teachers requires students to study two subjects, they will be provided with the chance to combine their instructional subjects with either other instructional subjects such as English, Physics, Mathematics, and more or with vocational subjects like Electrical Engineering, Textile Technology, Economics, and others.
