RWTH Aachen University and the School of Logopedics at the University Hospital offer in collaboration the degree program “Bachelor of Science in Logopedics”. This dual course of studies is with a duration of eight semesters and is designed to combine training with studies. The interdisciplinary nature of this program is defined by the cross-section of three academic disciplines, namely medicine, linguistics, and psychology. This way students will have the chance to look into and explore in depth subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Phoniatrics, Neurology, Clinical Psychology, Pedagogy, Sociology, as well as acquire new skills in Linguistics, Phonetics, Speech Training, and Psycholinguistics. Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Logopedics can become speech therapists that can be self-employed or find employment opportunities in medical practices or institutions, as well as hospitals.
